This Covid Christmas

What does this Christmas taste like?

Of bone-in ham

and mushroom-asparagus soup

Of smoked salmon strewn in spinach greens.

Of ribeye steak medium rare

lovingly prepared by the master chef

of the house for just the four of us.

Of gifts for family under

the old Christmas tree gifted

on my wedding

Of human warmth

and familial thoughts

Of introspective moments

of the goodness of each family member

and most of all, the goodness of the One

who made Christmas Christmas

Covid-19 pandemic or otherwise.
