Best Step Forward in 2018

I nervously flipped the November page of my wall calendar at the start of December. It's hard to believe that eleven full months of 2018 have smashed into space, never to return.

I ran through all the things that I did for the past seeming hectic months. Where did all the time go? Yea, as I scrolled month by month, I felt pacified.

Not because I did use my time right all the time, but I got a few things right. Apart from a fateful trip to the UK, I did go to the old Saigon, the new Ho Chi Minh City and Dalat; I also went to Johore Bahru for a day of makan with my hubby and two friends. That's all for the year's travel. And well, the biggest thing that happened to me this year, or rather I make happen, was BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) which is also my Best Step Forward.

I had been flustered enough on a couple of occasions when my cousin and friends asked me to join BSF. The thought of homework and assignments simply terrified me. That's that. I didn't have second thoughts of participating in BSF. Ever.

Not unlike the first time I came back to the Lord, I frantically went looking for churches in the Pasir Panjang church row and settled at a Baptist church for an entire year.

My increasing hunger to study the bible drove me to sign up for BSF voluntarily. It couldn't be me really. The God-shaped vacuum in my heart resounded in a scary silence that I felt compelled to go for it at all costs. Yes, waking up early in time for the 9 am class and beating the traffic to Choa Chu Kang. (The pic above is the route I take to class in Yew Tee). So ferocious was my hunger that I battled sleep deprivation to satiate it. And yes, it was all worth it!

For mothers with child(ren), fret not. BSF has a fantastic team of child-minders to take care of your child (and even infant) when you're in class. Simply impressive.

Dear Friend,

I am privileged to share a piece of Earth's massive estate with you in the little red dot, Singapore.

The truth is we all have been to space.  The outer space is really outside ourselves.  I'm glad you hopped on this space and I hope you'll enjoy being in this journey with me.

To a brilliant life!
